Southern California man arrested for alleged sexual assault of two victims

A 45-year-old man has been arrested and is facing charges of attempted rape after allegedly sexually assaulting two women this week in Riverside County, authorities announced.

Deputies from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Lake Matthews Station responded to the 3700 block of Harvill Lane in an unincorporated area of Corona known as Home Gardens at around 5:45 p.m. Mar. 24 on reports of female victims asking for help, according to a department news release.

At the scene, the victims told deputies that a man, later identified as Alexander Armenta, had sexually assaulted them.

Authorities were able to locate the 45-year-old Jurupa Valley resident and take him into custody.

Armenta was booked into the Cois Byrd Detention Center on two counts of attempted rape.

The investigation into the incident is ongoing and officials are urging anyone with information about this case to contact Riverside County Sheriff’s Department Investigator John Negrete at the Lake Matthews Station at 951-272-5600.
